General Policy & Natural Wood Characteristics

As with all solid wood furniture, expect some variations in color and finish. Some warping and cracking are also inherent with rustic wood furniture and in many ways enhance its appeal.

Each piece is inspected before shipment. The kiln-drying process minimizes movement, but climate changes can still affect wood over time and cannot be considered a reason for return.

Please read our recommended environment:
Solid Wood Furniture Temperature & Humidity Guide →

In the Event of Damage During Transit

Your furniture is inspected to meet our quality standards; however, things can happen during shipping.

Upon receipt of your order, it is important that you inspect your furniture.

If you suspect damage:

  • Immediately take pictures of the box.
  • Declare any damage to the driver/delivery company (make sure they note it on their Proof of Delivery - POD).
  • DO NOT accept the item – the driver must leave with the damaged piece.

Failing to adhere to these instructions makes your claim null and void.

Acceptance of the item(s) is equivalent to accepting the items as ordered, complete, and in good condition. In that case we charge a 20% handling fee + the original delivery charge for any return.

We will decline reasons like “I am in a hurry and did not fully check the items” or “I was not around or the person who received the items is not authorized.”

In the Event of Manufacturing Defects

If there is a genuine manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the damaged parts at our expense.

We define a manufacturing defect as:

  • Any significant imperfections that may impair the use of the furniture
  • Defective mechanism (not resulting from misuse)
  • A major crack, significant scratch or dent that cannot be retouched and impairs quality/use
What Is NOT Considered a Manufacturing Defect

The following are normal and accepted characteristics of real solid-wood rustic furniture:

  • Natural characteristics of the material and workmanship finish differences
  • Wood grains, “eye” marks, knots
  • Hairline surface checks or fine cracks from natural wood movement
  • Wrinkles on bent metal
  • Tiny imperfections in paint/varnish that can be retouched
  • Handmade variations in color/texture (especially antique-style finishes)

Examples of accepted hairline cracks (normal & non-returnable):

Accepted hairline crack 1
Accepted hairline crack 2
Accepted hairline crack 3
